HMAC Authentication
Deliverect can sign outgoing webhook requests using HMAC-SHA256, allowing you to verify that requests genuinely originate from Deliverect and have not been tampered with in transit. This can be achieved using a pre-shared secret configured on your integration.
Purpose
A webhook event can be delivered with various types of store / order data, typically to feed into external reporting platforms.

Full order containing all information available at the point of webhook delivery
Each order preparation status change can trigger a webhook specifying the order status
Where delivery platforms provide courier statuses or a 3rd party 'Dispatch' service is enabled, the details of the delivery progress will be sent whenever they change
When a store is set to open or closed for online ordering, a webhook event can be sent to a designated endpoint
