Modifier group to contain regular products in addition to modifiers

Hi there,

Refer to Menu Product Configuration documentation, there is a block mentioning that

Modifier groups can also contain regular products "productType": 1 inside apart from modifiers "productType": 2.

Is it still the case and how we can achieve this?
